Hop Aboard Philadelphia’s Erin Express: A St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl

Mar - 14 | | No comments. | University City

St. Patrick's Day is almost upon us, and there's no better way to celebrate than with a traditional Philadelphia pub crawl to some of the city's most beloved Irish watering holes.

The Erin Express was started by William Pawliczek, of Cavanaugh's Restaurant & Sports Bar at 39th and Sansom Streets, and Paul Ryan, Sr., of Smokey Joe's at 40th and Walnut, over three decades ago. And, over the years, this epic pub crawl has grown, and now shuttles participants to 15 bars all over the city of brotherly love in celebration of St. Patty!

Even better, there is no cost, no tickets, no reservations, no bracelets, and no cover charge while the 10 buses are running! The fleet of buses run in a continuous loop throughout the afternoon, so just hop on where ever and when ever you like from noon until 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 16th.

Simply show up at any of the participating bars in University City, Center City, Society Hill, or Fairmount, get a drink, and when you're ready to head to the next place, go outside, and a bus will arrive every 15 to 20 minutes to take you to the next bar, so you can continue on your St. Patrick's Day journey!
